Swede curry

A simple curry of swedes.
Ingredients
4 swedes
1/2 tsp. kalonji
1 tsp. cumin seeds
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
pinch of asafoetida powder
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic
Dash of peanut or vegetable oil
165ml coconut milk
Directions
Sauté the swedes in the oil, turning occasionally. Once they are lightly browned, set aside.
Fry the onions, cumin seeds and kalonji in the same pot (add a little more oil if you need) until lightly browned.
Add the garlic and fry, stirring, for another thirty seconds.
Add the turmeric, asafoetida and cook for another ten seconds or so.
Pour in the coconut milk, stir, then put the swedes back in. Cook for a further ten minutes.
